BALDWIN-WOODVILLE, WI – The Baldwin-Woodville Area School District Board of Education has selected their administration team for the 2024-2025 school year. For the first time in approximately ten years, there will be changes, all of which are a result of multiple retirements and internal movements. These changes will all be effective July 1, 2024.
Chad Brakke – Superintendent
Mr. Brakke has 25 years of experience in education with nearly twenty years in leadership positions. Mr. Brakke has been the superintendent of the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, since 2020.
Tiffanie Grodevant – Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Mrs. Grodevant will be starting the 2024-2025 with a new title: Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Grodevant has been one of the Greenfield Elementary principals since her start in July of 2011.
Leah Johnson-Freer – Director of Student Services
Mrs. Johnson-Freer will continue her role as the Director of Student Services. This will be her tenth year at BWSD. Prior to her time at Baldwin-Woodville, Mrs. Johnson-Freer served as a Director of Special Education and School Psychologist at Cumberland School District.
J.R. Dachel – High School Principal
Mr. J.R. Dachel will be starting his twenty-second year at BWSD with a new title: High School Principal. Mr. Dachel has held a variety of positions within the district. He started in August of 2002 as a technical education and drivers education teacher before moving into administrative roles. He has spent time as the Athletic Director, Middle School Principal, Elementary Principal and Transportation Director.
Jason Sell – High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director
Mr. Sell will be starting his twenty-third year with Baldwin-Woodville. This is Mr. Sell’s thirteenth year as the Athletic Director for BWSD. He started his career at B-W in August of 2001 as a high school social studies teacher.
Jarod Dachel – Middle School Principal
Mr. Jarod Dachel will now be the Viking Middle School Principal. He has been with the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District since August of 2000. Mr. Dachel was previously the Viking Middle School Assistant Principal and a sixth grade social studies teacher.
Joe Sbertoli – Elementary Principal
Mr. Sbertoli is joining BWSD with five years of administrative experience. He has been an elementary principal at McDill Elementary in Stevens Point since July of 2021. He previously served as an activities director at the School District of Waupaca and an Athletic Director in Tomorrow River School District. Mr. Sbertoli started his educational career as a physical education teacher.
Jeremy Nyggard – Elementary Assistant Principal/Transportation Director
Mr. Nygaard has been named Greenfield Elementary’s Assistant Principal and Transportation Director. Mr. Nygaard has been with Baldwin-Woodville since August of 2007. He was previously a multi-age teacher and data analyst.
Matthew Vande Berg – Elementary Assistant Principal
Mr. Vande Berg will also be an Assistant Principal at Greenfield Elementary starting the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Vande Berg was hired as a special education teacher in August of 2016; he transferred to the RTI Coordinator role in August of 2022.
