The Baldwin-Woodville Area School District Board of Education has selected four finalists for the district’s superintendent position. The candidates are Chad Brakke, Craig Broeren, Brian Nadeau, and Joshua Robinson. Final interviews will be conducted on January 3, 2024. The new superintendent will begin duties on July 1, 2024.
Chad Brakke is currently the superintendent for the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District. After serving as a guidance counselor for nine years, Mr. Brakke began his career in educational administration as an associate principal for three years in the Rice Lake School District before becoming the principal at Port Washington-Saukville. After serving ten years in that role, Chad accepted his current position as superintendent of the Cedar Grove-Belgium schools in 2020. Mr. Brakke has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from UW-Stevens Point, a Master of Educational Counseling degree from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, and a Master of Educational Administration degree from the UW-Superior. Chad completed his superintendent licensure program at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Craig Broeren has nearly 14 years of superintendent experience. He began his school leadership career as the superintendent of the Prairie Farm School System and later served as the superintendent for the School District of Barron. Craig is currently the superintendent of the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools, a job he has held since 2017. Prior to becoming a superintendent, Mr. Broeren held positions as a PK-12 principal, athletic director, middle school science teacher, and a high school biology and chemistry teacher. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UW-River Falls, a Master of Arts degree in Teacher Preparation from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and is completing a doctorate degree in Policy, Leadership, and Administration at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
Brian Nadeau became the superintendent and 6-12 principal for the Plum City School District in 2021. Prior to his current position, Brian held administrative positions as a PK-12 principal in the Clayton School District, an assistant principal in Tomah Middle School, and the dean of students for Hudson Middle School. Before becoming an administrator, Brian was a middle school science teacher for 15 years working initially in the New Richmond School District and later becoming a member of the Viking Middle School staff in the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District. Mr. Nadeau completed his superintendent certification at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and his principal licensure program at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. His Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Secondary Education was earned at UW-River Falls.
Joshua Robinson has been the superintendent of the Frederic School District since 2012 after serving as the district’s high school principal for a year. Prior to joining the Frederic School system, Mr. Robinson was an assistant high school principal at the School District of Osceola for eight years. He has teaching experience as a high school English teacher and as an adjunct instructor of school leadership programs for UW-River Falls and Educate-WI. Josh earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Secondary Broad Area English Education from UW-River Falls and a Master of Education Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He is currently completing a doctorate program in Education Administration at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN.
