PRESCOTT, WI – The Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks soared past the Prescott Cardinals, 35-7, in week-seven of the 2023 football season. Baldwin-Woodville’s persistent play led to a brisk Blackhawk victory.

Baldwin-Woodville kicked off to Prescott to open the game. The Cardinal’s offense advanced the ball downfield methodically but was stopped short of scoring by Blackhawk defensive back Colton Hush; intercepting a Cardinal pass at the Baldwin-Woodville eight-yardline. Baldwin-Woodville capitalized soon after with a burst of speed; a 68-yard rushing touchdown by Gavin Sell, 7-0. Both teams punted on their next possessions. The Cardinals, pressured by Baldwin-Woodville’s defense, punted once more. The Blackhawk’s offense struck again on an 11-yard passing touchdown from quarterback Cal Smith to Ryan Veenendall to end the first quarter, 14-0.

Prescott struggled to move the ball on their first drive of the second quarter. Baldwin-Woodville’s defensive pressure forced the Cardinals to throw another interception to Hush. The Blackhawks took possession at their own 5-yardline and went to work right away utilizing their tempo offense. Baldwin-Woodville added to their lead with a Smith to Sell 44-yard touchdown through the air, 21-0.
