SPRING VALLEY, WI – Playing a tough non-conference schedule is a difficult decision for coaches. They ask themselves if playing tough teams is good or bad for their teams’ development, especially if it means losing.

The Spring Valley boys’ basketball team tends to play a tough non-conference schedule to try to set themselves up for success in conference play. Their win last week in the Dunn-St. Croix conference opener showed the results of that schedule.

Currently, Valley sits with a 3-2 overall record and a 1-0 conference mark with a pair of games against D-SC foes Glenwood City this past Tuesday and at Colfax Friday night. The team will then have a break before hosting Somerset on Thursday, December 21, 2023. The Cardinals will then play Pardeeville at JustAGame Fieldhouse on December 29 with another game the next day against a team to be determined.
