SPRING VALLEY, WI – The middle of the boys’ basketball season has reached us and the Spring Valley boys’ basketball team is in pretty good shape. It wasn’t the best week for the Cardinals as they dropped their first conference game of the season to a tough Durand squad that sits on top of the conference, but resilience has been a key factor for the team, and they bounced back for a win at home against E-PC here last Friday night.

The Cardinals now sit with a 6-1 conference record and 11-4 overall mark. Valley traveled to Osseo-Fairchild for a non-conference game this past Tuesday and will play at Boyceville tonight. The road trek continues for the Cardinals next Tuesday, January 30, 2024, up the road in Glenwood City before returning home on February 2 for a game with Colfax.

Durand 63, Spring Valley 53 – Having a hot hand is always exciting for players, when they feel like every shot they throw up is going in. That was the case in the first half for both Cade Stasiek of the Cardinals and Grady Hayden of Durand. Both players couldn’t miss, especially from beyond the three-point line.
