Evelyn Spielman, age 91, of Hersey, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Park View Home, Woodville, Wisconsin.

Evelyn was born July 11, 1933, to John and Francis (Colburn) Peabody in Cady Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin. She grew up in Hersey, Wisconsin and attended Glenwood City School.  She was a member of 1st Lutheran Church in Hersey until it closed and has been a longtime member of Wilson Lutheran Church.

On September 29, 1951, Evie married Dale Spielman at 1st Lutheran, Hersey. They farmed south of Glenwood City and then moved to Hersey.

Evie worked at Sandy Lee and Johnson Garment as a seamstress. She also cooked at the Old School House, Kuehl’s Bar, the Wilson Night Club, and Peg’s Pleasant View. She was a member of the Wilson Legion Auxiliary since 1987.

Her favorite pastimes were sewing, cooking, baking (she was always giving goodies to everyone), bingo and rooting for her beloved Green Bay Packers. Her family was most important to her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Dale; an infant son; sister Lillian Schouten-Stubbs; brothers-in-law: Leo Schouten; Donald Pohl; Earl Spielman; sister-in-law: Leona Spielman, and special friend Milt Hamman.

Evie will remain in the hearts of her children: Deb (Pastor Doug) Schalow; Jeff Spielman; Pam (Gary) Petranovich; Jim (Sandy) Spielman; sister Donna Pohl; brother-in-law; Mike Stubbs; grandchildren: Tim (Tammy) Schalow; Melissa (Tom) Lemsky; Jeffrey Spielman Jr.; Jamie (Casey) Spielman; Jessica (Adam) Tyers; Ella Spielman; Jason (JoAnn) Carlson; Jeramiah Spielman; Eli Spielman; great grandchildren: Mikayla; Mykenzie; Ryan; Peyton; Jordyn; Jackson; Caeley; Jacob; Brookelyn; Lexi; Keysha; Jonnessa along with many other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Evie was on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, Wisconsin and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Wilson Lutheran Church, Wilson, Wisconsin.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hersey, Wisconsin.
