SPRING VALLEY, WI – Home cooking is always good for struggling teams and the Spring Valley girls’ basketball team needed some home cooking.

The Cardinals were coming off a devastating loss last Saturday in Colfax against Bloomer where they were clearly overmatched. With conference play starting, Valley needed to get some confidence back, and notch their first win of the season. Boyceville and Glenwood City were the teams on tap for the team this week and the Cardinals were able to put things together for a pair of wins.

The Cardinals now sit with a 2-5 overall record and a 2-0 mark in Dunn-St. Croix conference play. The team has a little bit of a break as their next game is tonight in Colfax and then followed by a home game against Mondovi on Tuesday, December 19. The team then won’t play again until December 27 and 28 in Clayton for a holiday tournament.
