Motorcycle crash with fatal injuries reported by Sheriff’s Office

TOWN OF HUDSON, WI – On September 19, 2024, at 12:59 p.m., the St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center received a call reporting a motorcycle crash with injuries, located on the onramp from STH 35 to I-94 in the Town of Hudson.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle crashed in the north bound lane of STH 35.

The motorcycle had been traveling north on STH 35, and was operated by Anthony D. Tibbits, age 56, from River Falls, Wisconsin. Mr. Tibbits lost control of the motorcycle on the STH 35 onramp to I-94 and crashed. He was transported to Regions Hospital by ambulance. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Mr. Tibbits died as the result of the injuries he sustained from the crash.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Hudson Police Department, Hudson Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Lakeview EMS

This marks the sixth fatality recorded by St. Croix County in 2024.

The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.
