Snowmobile accident with injuries in Gilman Township reported

TOWN OF GILMAN, WI – On Friday March 29, 2024, at approximately 7:22 p.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a snowmobile accident with injuries at a private residence in Gilman Township, in Pierce County, Wisconsin.

It was determined that a 2005 Polaris Indy 500 being operated by Chelsea Gilles, 35 years old from Spring Valley, Wisconsin had been operating in a field and lost control. Ms. Gilles had a four-year-old juvenile passenger on the snowmobile as well.

Ms. Gilles was transported from the scene by Life Link Helicopter to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota with undetermined injuries. The juvenile passenger was transported by Spring Valley Area Ambulance to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN with undetermined injuries.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted on scene by Spring Valley Area Ambulance, Elmwood Fire Department, Spring Valley Fire and Life Link Helicopter.
