Stasiek leads contingent of baseball and softball players earning All-Conference honors

SPRING VALLEY, WI – The spring sports season ended, but the post-season honors have rolled in for five Spring Valley baseball players and two Cardinal softball players as a result of their hard work and dedication to their teams.

Junior Cade Stasiek led the Spring Valley contingent with a first team selection for the baseball team. Stasiek was sixth in the conference in stolen bases with 21 swipes. He also hit a team high .349 for everyday hitters, scoring 16 runs on 15 hits and nine walks. He was also stellar defensively with a .967 fielding percentage with 28 put-outs in 30 catches with just one error on the season.

Senior Diego Schmitt earned second team honors with a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 20 put-outs and five assists in 25 total catches with no errors. He was also fourth in the conference in doubles with six, had 14 hits and 15 stolen bases.
