BALDWIN, WI – Western Wisconsin Health (WWH) is delighted to announce that Nick Berger has joined the team as Specialty Services Director. Nick brings a unique and diverse background to the position, with extensive experience in healthcare, education, and community service. His personal journey into healthcare is both inspiring and deeply rooted in his commitment to helping others, and WWH looks forward to the positive contributions he will make to the organization.

Nick’s initial career path was in education, earning a degree in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. However, a life-changing event during his final year of college redirected his path toward healthcare. After a serious accident involving a car, Nick underwent surgery and physical therapy. The care and support he received during his recovery inspired him to explore career opportunities in healthcare.

Nick’s professional journey began in healthcare sales, where he excelled in building relationships. Seeking more collaborative work with physicians, clinics, and hospitals, Nick transitioned to a role as a Client Service Executive at Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in Western Wisconsin. In this capacity, he served as a liaison between the healthcare system and its partners, focusing on growing services, strengthening partnerships, and improving safety. His nine-year tenure at HSHS gave him invaluable experience and helped him develop his leadership skills.

As Specialty Services Director at WWH, Nick is committed to fostering caring and trustworthy relationships, believing that these are crucial for a positive workplace culture and effective teamwork. He is also passionate about helping providers increase referral networks and identify new opportunities to deliver care. Nick’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental in guiding WWH specialty services to new heights.

When asked about his new role, Nick responded “I’m enthusiastic about joining an organization focused on health, wellness, and sustainability. I’m thrilled to be part of the mission to build a healthier tomorrow together, and I look forward to developing relationships with providers, colleagues, and the community.”

Outside of work, Nick is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Rachelle, have three children. As a family, they enjoy traveling, biking, and engaging in outdoor activities. Nick also has a passion for music and plays guitar, bass, drums, and ukulele.

Originally from Eau Claire, Nick’s deep connection to the Wisconsin community fuels his dedication to his work. He actively serves the community, holding such roles as President and Board Member of the Kiwanis Club of Eau Claire and volunteering at his church, the Community Table, and Chippewa Valley Museum.

WWH Chief Administrative Officer Charlie Forbush stated, “We are thrilled to have Nick Berger on our team and look forward to the expertise and passion he brings. We are confident that Nick’s leadership and commitment to patient care will make a positive impact on our organization and the communities we serve.”

Please join us in welcoming Nick Berger to Western Wisconsin Health!
