SPRING VALLEY, WI – You know it’s spring in Wisconsin when you break out the winter gear to go watch a baseball game. At least for a few games.

The Spring Valley baseball team opened their 2024 campaign with a pair of Dunn-St. Croix conference games last week, which they split. The loss and win puts Valley at 1-1 on the season and in the conference with games at Colfax this past Monday, at Glenwood City today (Thursday) and home against non-conference foe Somerset tomorrow. Next week the Cardinals host Durand on Monday, April 15, at home and follow it up with a game against Elk Mound on Thursday – also at home.

Boyceville 8, Spring Valley 1 – The Bulldogs wanted to establish their home field right away, and Valley struggled on the mound to begin with – two things that didn’t bode well for a Cardinal victory.
