SPRING VALLEY, WI – With just one week of the regular season left, the Spring Valley baseball team is working hard to hit their stride and rack up as many wins as possible to get the best seed they can for the WIAA playoffs. The Cardinals got a pair of wins last week before falling to conference leader Elk Mound this past Monday.

The Cardinals now sit with a 6-6 conference record, good for fourth place, and a 6-9 overall mark. Valley played at Elk Mound this past Monday and at Colfax on Tuesday. The Cardinals hosted Mondovi yesterday and will host Clear Lake on Monday, May 20, 2024, in a non-conference regular season finale.

Spring Valley 10, Glenwood City 2 – Sophomore Will Biggs got the win for the Cardinals, going six innings and giving up two runs on just five hits and no walks with four strikeouts. Pitch count rules wouldn’t let Biggs finish, but senior Jameson Bauer got the save by striking out two of three hitters in the top of the seventh inning.
