WOODVILLE, WI – The annual Zion Senior Choir Christmas Concert and Candlelit Norwegian Kaffee Kallas will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodville, on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 4 p.m.
The Zion Senior Choir, directed by Elizabeth Leon and accompanied by Judy Veenendaal will present “A Journey to Joy,” an exciting cantata for SATB (S/soprano, A/alto, T/tenor and B/bass) voices embellished with flute by Megan Hessler Nelson and narrations courtesy of Kelly Sundby.
The cantata takes the audience from Advent to the Birth of Jesus; incorporating tunes from: Mendelssohn, “Adeste Fideles,” “Jungst,” “Coventry Carol,” “O Come, O Come,” “Emmanuel,” “Puer Nobis,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Joy to the world” and “The First Noel.” Soprano Alex Albrigtson Prasch will sing an angelic solo in the song “Advent Lament” and our Pastor Tenor Ben Nelson will sing a beautiful heartfelt solo in “A Palace in Bethlehem.” Each choir member brings the birth of Jesus to life in this beautiful cantata.
Please join us for the beautiful candlelit “Kaffe Kallas” in the Fellowship Hall with a smorgasbord of Norwegian and traditional foods enhanced by Christian Fellowship celebrating the beginning of the Christmas Season!
Zion Lutheran Church is located at 221 Lockwood, Woodville, Wisconsin 54028.
