SPRING VALLEY, WI – From next door neighbors growing up, to now neighbors at the Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center, Sylva Anderson and Betty Larson’s friendship has withstood the test of time. In fact, both Sylva (February 8) and Betty (February 16) will be celebrating their 101st birthdays this month.
Despite their family farms being next door to each other, the two didn’t become friends until about age fourteen when they both attended Spring Valley High School at the location in downtown in the Village that was torn down in 2022.
“We had sixty-four of us in our graduating class,” said Betty. “We’re the only two left. We would have reunions and when people didn’t show up, well, we knew what happened to them then.”
