HAMMOND, WI – The Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks wrapped up the 2024 regular season with a 35-21 victory over their rivals, the St. Croix Central Panthers, on October 18, 2024, at Annabelle D. Hanson Sports Complex. This win secured an undefeated conference campaign for the Blackhawks, marking their first “perfect” run to a Middle Border Conference title since 1992. Baldwin-Woodville’s last MBC title came in 2019.
Baldwin-Woodville kicked off to SCC to start the game. The Panthers, relying heavily on their rushing game, moved downfield, consuming much of the first quarter. The Panthers struck first with an 18-yard rushing touchdown and successful extra point, SCC 7-0. SCC surprised Baldwin-Woodville with an onside kick attempt, but the Blackhawks were unable to recover the football.
Baldwin-Woodville’s offense quickly sprang into action from midfield, also emphasizing the run game. Quarterback Gavin Sell showcased his talent as he navigated downfield on a keeper, reaching the SCC 1-yard line, where he scored Baldwin-Woodville’s first touchdown. Running back Taden Holdorf converted the 2-point attempt, putting the Blackhawks ahead 8-7.
