MEDFORD, WI – The Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks defeated the Winneconne Wolves, 40-16, in the WIAA Division 4 State Semi-Final on November 15, 2024, at neutral site Medford High School’s Raider Field. The Blackhawks advance to the WIAA D4 State Championship and will play Racine St. Catherine’s at Camp Randall on Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m. for the State Championship title.
Baldwin-Woodville kicked off to open play. Winneconne struggled to advance the ball and turned over on downs. The Blackhawk offense took the field at the B-W 41-yardline and quickly moved downfield on several rushing attacks, reaching the endzone on a 4-yard run by running back Taden Holldorf. The two-point conversion pass from quarterback Gavin Sell to wide receiver Brody Everts was good, B-W 8-0.
Winneconne punted on their next possession and Baldwin-Woodville capitalized on the Wolves’ empty drive with up-tempo play leading to a short QB keeper touchdown by Sell. 2-point conversion no-good, B-W 14-0. Winneconne’s offense was again stymied by the Blackhawks when defensive back Dane Veenendall intercepted a Wolves pass giving Baldwin-Woodville another offensive opportunity near midfield. The Blackhawks neared the Winneconne 35-yardline before reaching the end of the first quarter.
