SPRING VALLEY, WI – When wins don’t come easy, but they keep coming – it only helps teams get better. Having to work through adversity, struggle, find different ways to do it – that builds character for a team and brings them together.

The Spring Valley boys’ basketball team has been doing just that recently, even if the final scores don’t dictate that. The Cardinals are coming off a pair of wins in D-SC play that at the end look like easy wins, but in reality, were more difficult. The wins improved the Cardinals to 15-4 overall, 9-1 in the D-SC which currently has them tied for first place with Durand who lost to Elk Mound last week in overtime.

Valley had a non-conference tilt with Turtle Lake this past Monday and will travel to Mondovi tonight, where Cade Stasiek needs just two points to reach the 1,000-point plateau as a junior. The next week for the Cardinals will be huge as Valley will host Elk Mound on Tuesday, February 13 and then travel to Durand on Friday, February 16. The team will finish the regular season on Thursday, February 22 at Plum City against E-PC.
