BALDWIN, WI – Adoray Home Health and Hospice, a leading provider of home-based care in Western Wisconsin, has launched a new Awards program to recognize the remarkable contributions of its staff and volunteers. The Awards were announced at the Adoray Holiday Party on Saturday, January 13, 2024, as part of the celebration of National Home Care and Hospice Month that took place in November.

The Awards are named after individuals who played a key role in the founding and development of Adoray. Mary Troftgruben, the founder and first CEO of Adoray, was honored with the Employee Awards, given to two staff members who demonstrated excellence in their roles and embodied the mission and values of Adoray. Mary was honored to be able to personally present the awards to our employees and share the heartwarming story of how Adoray was started. Awards were also named for two others, Nancy Parlin, a Volunteer who also served on the Adoray Board of Directors, and Barb Hess, one of Adoray’s longest Volunteers who served in every area of Adoray. Both showed exceptional dedication and compassion and we are honored to keep their memory and legacy alive with the Volunteer Awards. Barb’s daughter Tammy Erickson was delighted to be able to personally present the award in honor of her mother to the Volunteer.

Adoray CEO Amanda Gustafson expressed her gratitude and admiration for the staff and volunteers who make Adoray a trusted and respected organization in the community. “I want to express my sincere appreciation for the unwavering commitment and exceptional work demonstrated by every individual within our Adoray family. We are proud to recognize his commitment and service to our patients and our Country with this award.

She never judged, she never wavered in seeing the good in folks, she simply showed up and asked, “how can I help YOU today?”

Barb volunteered in the Adoray office. She was a patient volunteer and volunteered at the Baldwin and River Falls Treasures from the Heart stores. It is an honor to present this recognition in her memory to Sheryl who embodies her aspiration to help Adoray and our patients. Sheryl is very friendly to everyone, willing to help anyone, and is a great asset to our treasures store. She is eager to finish tasks and seeks out tasks and can be relied upon to be proactive asking, what can I do next? Volunteers and customers enjoy her friendly and helpful demeanor. We can rely on her to get the job completed without hesitation and with a smile on her face. It is a true honor to recognize her dedication to Adoray and compassion for all with this award.

We are grateful to recognize these four individuals and the creation of these awards to honor the legacy and impact of Adoray in our community. These awards will help us remember and celebrate the values and vision of Adoray in our daily work and for years to come.

SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Village of Spring Valley (SV) along with Western Wisconsin Health (WWH) are excited to formally announce their partnership to open a new healthcare clinic in Spring Valley, Wisconsin in the late summer or fall of 2024. The announcement was made jointly on Friday, January 20, 2024, in Spring Valley. The Village of Spring Valley – Community Development Authority (CDA) recently purchased an office building (the Attorneys Building) located on Akers Avenue.

Over the next several months, this building will be renovated and transformed into a medical office building. The Village of Spring Valley is making this important financial investment to ensure Spring Valley residents and the larger community has access to local health care.

“Many rural community members are not prioritizing their health needs due to not being able to get to medical appointments because the care they need is too far away. This creative partnership with Western Wisconsin Health will empower Spring Valley citizens to be able to access the healthcare they need to live healthier and happier lives” said Village of Spring Valley Administrator, Luann Emerson who was accompanied by Village President Theresa Koch for this exciting announcement.

“Expanding healthcare services into Spring Valley has been an important goal to WWH, because Spring Valley has been in a medical home desert for many years. Over 20% of WWH’s patients hail from the Spring Valley area and we are invested in the health and wellness of the Spring Valley community,” WWH Chief Executive Officer, Eilidh Pederson stated. “At WWH’s Spring Valley Clinic, primary care, mental health services and prenatal care will be provided. These are the services that have been identified as the highest need for the Spring Valley community,” Pederson reported. She was accompanied at the announcement by WWH Chief Administrative Officer Charlie Forbush.

The goal and mission of WWH is to be part of the healthcare solution. Ensuring the region has access to quality health and wellness services are ideals to which both parties are committed.

The creative partnership between Western Wisconsin Health and the Village of Spring Valley will allow these goals to be realized.

Girls’ team gets back in the winning column, tough games ahead

0

SPRING VALLEY, WI – What started with a long road trip for a game that was lost, the Spring Valley girls’ basketball team was able to salvage two out of three games for wins. The pair of wins over conference rivals improved the Cardinals to 4-4 in the Dunn-St. Croix conference and 4-12 overall.

The Cardinals traveled to Glenwood City this past Tuesday and will host Colfax tonight. Next week, Valley travels to Osceola for a non-conference game on Tuesday, January 30.

Whitehall 67, Spring Valley 49 – This was the first time the Cardinals had their usual starting five since before the holiday break and the team had a completely different level of play on the floor. The Cardinals brought a full-court press out that flustered the Norse on their home floor in the first half and the two teams battled back and forth with each other.
