Cross country team keeps dropping times, prepping for postseason

SPRING VALLEY, WI – Hosting a home meet is always a plus, being able to run on your own course that you practice on. That familiarity helped the Spring Valley runners drop their personal records for the season, as well as a few all-time records.

Glenwood City won the boys’ team score with 40 points, edging out Prescott with 46 points. Durand was third with 61 points followed by Elk Mound (111), Boyceville (119) and Spring Valley (143).

The race was won by Zayne Richardson of Durand with a time of 17:04. Freshman Drake Olszewski led the Cardinals with a 22nd place finish and a time of 20:21 with senior Shahrkhan Kaker in 27th place with a time of 20:40. Junior Nolan Palmer was 34th in 21:14, followed by freshman Koen Heizler (39th in 21:36), sophomores Parker Cipriano (40th in 21:40) and Chase Glaus (42nd in 21:50), and senior Danny Cipriano (48th in 22:16).
