COLFAX, WI – There was a lot on the line for the Spring Valley football team here last Friday night. It was the regular season finale and while the probability that the Cardinals would make the playoffs was pretty definite, a loss may have changed some things drastically.
There was also the possibility of finishing with a winning record as the team was coming into the game with a 4-4 record. The Cardinals were also coming off two-straight losses in conference play.
But the Cardinals buckled down for a 36-8 win over the Colfax Vikings and as a result hosted a WIAA Level 1 playoff game Friday night against Glenwood City, a team they are familiar with as the Hilltoppers just beat Valley the previous week.
