Girls’ team gets back in the winning column, tough games ahead

SPRING VALLEY, WI – What started with a long road trip for a game that was lost, the Spring Valley girls’ basketball team was able to salvage two out of three games for wins. The pair of wins over conference rivals improved the Cardinals to 4-4 in the Dunn-St. Croix conference and 4-12 overall.

The Cardinals traveled to Glenwood City this past Tuesday and will host Colfax tonight. Next week, Valley travels to Osceola for a non-conference game on Tuesday, January 30.

Whitehall 67, Spring Valley 49 – This was the first time the Cardinals had their usual starting five since before the holiday break and the team had a completely different level of play on the floor. The Cardinals brought a full-court press out that flustered the Norse on their home floor in the first half and the two teams battled back and forth with each other.
