PIERCE COUNTY, WI – The first two car crash reported occurred on November 3, 2024, in Spring Lake Township. On Sunday November 3, at approximately 6:07 p.m., the Pierce County (PC) Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash with injuries on County Road CC near 650th Ave in Spring Lake Township, Wisconsin.
It was determined that a 2022 Toyota Tacoma operated by Gregory Schrag, 42 years old from Elmwood, WI, had been traveling eastbound on 650th Ave when he struck a 2021 Jeep Wrangler traveling northbound on County Road CC being operated by a Laura Larson, 35 years old from Elmwood, WI. There were two passengers in the Jeep Wrangler who were identified as Nikolas Hofacker, 25 years old from Elmwood WI, and a one-year-old juvenile from Elmwood, WI.
Ms. Larson was transported to Western Wisconsin Health (WWH) by Spring Valley EMS with undetermined injuries. The one-year-old juvenile and Mr. Hofacker were transported via personal vehicle to WWH with undetermined injuries. Mr. Schrag was not injured in the accident.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spring Valley Fire Department, Spring Valley Ambulance, Elmwood Ambulance and the Elmwood Fire Department.
The next report was of a single vehicle crash with possible injury on US Highway 63 in Pierce County. The Baldwin driver with a 3-year-old passenger was transported to WWH.
On Wednesday November 6, 2024, at approximately 1:21 a.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single vehicle crash with possible injury on US Highway 63 near 799th Avenue in Martell Township.
It was determined a 2013 Volkswagen Passat, being operated by Sondra MacDonald, 41 of Baldwin Wisconsin, was traveling westbound on 799th Ave when she attempted to make a right hand turn to travel northbound on US Hwy 63 and entered the ditch. There was a juvenile 3-year-old passenger in her vehicle as well. Ms. MacDonald and her juvenile passenger were transported by Ellsworth Ambulance to WWH in Baldwin, Wisconsin, with undetermined injuries.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ellsworth Fire Department and the Ellsworth Ambulance Service.
The last crash report was a single car – deer crash with injuries reported by Patrol Lieutenant Andrew Thoms of the PC Sheriff’s Office, this one was in the Town of Gilman, Wisconsin. On Thursday November 7, 2024, at approximately 10:14 a.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single motor vehicle accident with injury on State Road 29 near County Road BB, Gilman Township, Wisconsin.
It was determined a 2023 Chevy Equinox, being operated by Wanda Doughty, 64 of Elmwood Wisconsin, was traveling westbound on State Road 29 when she struck a deer. Ms. Doughty was transported by Spring Valley Ambulance to WWH in Baldwin, Wisconsin with undetermined injuries.
