ELMWOOD, WI – On Saturday, April 20, 2024, seven teams with twenty-four people total, congregated at the historic Elmwood Auditorium for an afternoon of fun, and puzzle solving as the Elmwood Public Library hosted their first “Jigsaw Puzzle Contest.”

500 piece wrapped mystery puzzles were selected from a table, and teams were given two hours to complete their puzzles. While competitors had no idea what was in their box, some puzzles were clearly trickier than others –  with small pieces, strange shapes, and difficult pictures.

Despite the puzzle difficulty, the teams were enthusiastic. The seven teams that competed in this first ever competition were “Butch’s Angels,” “Sharraca,” “Team Happy,” “Puzzlers,” “Puzzle Crushers,” “Gettin’ Jiggy with it,” and Family Matters.” With a mix of all ages competing, there was even a team with four generations present!
