Ruth A. Veenendall, age 97, of Baldwin, WI, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024 surrounded by her family members. Ruth was born on May 30, 1926 in Baldwin, WI, to parents Henry and Christine (Schouten) Vrieze. Ruth married the love of her life, Wayne Veenendall, on September 17, 1947 and together they were blessed with six children. Ruth was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for others did not stop with just her family, she loved caring for those in need and became a CNA and worked at both Parkview in Woodville and Baldwin Care Center for many years.
Ruth was a wonderful cook and had a talent for beautifully decorating cakes. She loved to stay active and participated in church circles at First Reformed Church in Baldwin and was involved in the Baldwin Dutch Community. She spent much of her free time gardening, traveling, playing cards, and following the Big 10 football and basketball teams. She attended many games and of course was an avid Packers fan.
She will remain in the hearts of her husband of 76 years Wayne; children Sharon Hull (Chuck Niemeyer) Doug Veenendall (Christine), Paul Veenendall (Lynda Affolter), Keith Veenendall, Jerry Veenendall (Deanna), and Jayne Kincade; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law Faith Anne Veenendall; son-in-law William Hull; grandson Brian Veenendall and her 8 siblings.
A funeral service for Ruth will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at First Reformed Church in Baldwin. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Reformed Church in Baldwin, the Baldwin Care Center, or to Adoray Hospice.
