SPRING VALLEY, WI – The 2025 version of the Spring Valley football team is significantly different than the 2024 version, but that happens when you graduate a senior-heavy team. That doesn’t mean that this is a bad team, but the lack of experience will certainly be a factor for the success of the team.

The Cardinals struggled in their season opening loss to Durand here last week 34-8, but a loss to start the season doesn’t mean the season is over. It just means that the team has some growing to do, and that the coaches will have to help the players learn more and quickly.

“I thought we played like a team that lacked experience,” said Head Coach Ryan Kapping about the play of the team last Friday, August 22, 2025. “We missed some scoring opportunities in the first half that could have changed the game, but we established a starting point to build from.”
