Roxanne Grinnell, age 63 of Woodville, Wisconsin passed away on March 25, 2024.

Roxanne Kay Grinnell was born May 5, 1960 to Rexford and Evelyn (Olson) Grinnell.

Her resilience in the face of adversity was truly inspiring; despite the many challenges she faced after her stroke, her determination remained unwavering, serving as a testament to her remarkable strength.

Roxie’s affinity for nature, particularly birds and flowers, was profound. Her giving heart left an indelible mark on those around her. Whether it was her renowned peanut brittle during the holidays or her thoughtful gestures like tending to the cemetery plants and always having dog treats on hand, Roxie epitomized the essence of generosity.

Above all, Roxie held her role as a grandmother in the highest regard. Her granddaughters brought her immense pride and joy. She eagerly participated in their events, cherishing every opportunity to be a part of their lives. The tradition of sending cards for all Holidays to them will be a cherished memory for years to come. Her bond with her cat, Whitey, added warmth and companionship to her days. Active in a stroke survivor’s group, Roxie relished the camaraderie and shared experiences. She found joy in simple pleasures like shopping and dining out with friends whenever possible.

Though Roxie’s absence leaves a void impossible to fill, her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will endure in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. She was one of a kind, and her memory will be treasured eternally.

Roxie is survived by her children Paige (Dustin) Hawkins, Chad (Rachel Hansen) Gustafson; grandchildren Brienna and Madison Hawkins; sister Brenda Grinnell Lee; brother Randy (Cheryl) Grinnell; half-brother Greg (Vicki) Grinnell; godson Spencer Hielkema; goddaughter Tara Davis; nieces; nephews; extended family; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rexford and Evelyn Grinnell; brother Richard Grinnell; and half-siblings Ricky, Roland and Terry.

A Memorial Gathering was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday April 2, 2024, at O’Connell Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St. Baldwin, Wisconsin. Inurnment was in the Hammond Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
