ST CROIX COUNTY, WI – St. Croix County will be holding our third annual Mental Health Symposium on May 1. This year’s topic will be ”Supporting Young Minds: Understanding Mental Health in Emerging Adults”. This is a collaborative effort from St. Croix County and local partners to bring awareness and understanding to the mental health challenges facing youth and emerging adults.

May 1, 2024
5:30 – 7:30 pm
St. Croix Central High School, Hammond

The St. Croix County Health and Human Services Department is initiating this effort to better understand and address behavioral health crisis events to improve outcomes for the people of St. Croix County. During the symposium we will share local data, perspectives, and resources.

“Mental health challenges are increasingly prevalent among youth and emerging adults. It’s important that we have these conversations about mental health so everyone knows that there are people who care, support is available, and nobody has to be alone in their mental health journey. This symposium aims to empower our community with the knowledge and tools needed to make a difference in the lives of young individuals facing mental health challenges.” –Bob Rohret, St. Croix County Health and Human Services Director

This event is free and open to everyone who would like to learn more about how mental health impacts our younger generations. We will look at data to better understand the mental health landscape among emerging adults. Peer Support Specialists and young adults will share their personal journeys with mental health challenges. Industry professionals and educators will share practical advice on how to approach and help someone facing difficulties with mental health or substance use and connect attendees with local resources.

SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Spring Valley High School Drama Department started rehearsals in the end of January at the school and moved them the Stagehands Theatre in March for the hilariously funny play, “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” There was a lot of truth told by a great cast of thespians in this humorous script that many families will recognize all too well.

The ten-act comedy finished its three-day run of performances last Sunday, April 7, 2024.
